Meditation for the Radiant Body
chanting the Ik Acharee Chand Mantra
Ajai Alai with Laya Yoga techniques

Dear Sangat Ji,

Ik Acharee Chand Mantra is part of the Jaap Sahib composed by Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th and last incarnated Guru of the Sikh lineage.

Human beings have ten bodies. The soul, the negative, positive and neutral minds, the physical body, the arc line, the aura, the pranic, subtle and radiant bodies. In each of us, these bodies are in various stages of development. For example, athletes develops their physical body, intellectual their mind, meditators their arc line, remote viewers their subtle body, charismatic personalities their radiant body.

The aim of this existence is to bring these bodies to their fullest realization by clearing the negative karma associated to them while working at actualizing them.

Ik Acharee Chand Mantra works on the 10th body to develop our sense of plenitude that is felt when our aura reaches its climax and we touch the golden shield that interface us with God.
When this happen, all fears vanish as we are in God’s hands. We feel it and that makes us powerful, radiant and bold while subtle, with an innate royal sense of justice. We tend to attract the good things without effort while we are ready to sacrifice them if the call of duty requires it.

Developing this body at this time and Age is not a luxury but a necessity.

The Meditation

This meditation was taught by Yogi Bhajan the 31st of July 2001 without mentioning any specific pranayama to go with it. The Laya Yoga technique (that includes the mulbhand) mentioned with the tune I created is my own personal choice.

How to practice

I created this tune to be used with Laya yoga techniques that combine the rhythm of the chanted frequencies with the breath and the focus of the mind to achieve the specific results mentioned above.

There are 32 words in this mantra.
In this particular technique each word are chanted with one breath. That means we breathe 32 times with each full recitation of the mantra.
We breathe in through the mouth on the first syllable while applying the mulbhand and breathe out through the mouth on the following syllable(s) while releasing the mulbhand.
The breathing will come naturally after a while as the mulbhand action will do the breathing itself, not us.

In this version the mantra is repeated 45 times that means 1440 mulbhand will be practised.

This technique was used on battlefield during Guru Gobind Singh’s time and allowed the warriors to keep fighting against vastly outnumbered enemies.

Posture

Sit in Easy Pose with a straight spine and a light Neck Lock.

Mudra

Arc the arms over the head, with the fingers interlocked in-between the palms.
Tuck the chin in, and pull the arms back and slightly downward until the hands are above the back of the neck.

Mantra

Ajai Alai Abhai Abai
Abhoo Ajoo Anaas Akaas
Aganj Abhanj Alakh Abhakh
Akaal Dyaal Alaykh Abhaykh
Anaam Akaam Agaahaa Adhaahaa
Anaathay Pramaathay Ajonee Amonee
Na Raagay Na Rangay Na Roopay Na Raykay
Akaramang Abharamang Aganjay Alaykhay

Time: 11-22 minutes.

To End: Inhale deeply, suspend the breath and stretch the arms up high keeping the fingers interlaced. Exhale powerfully. Repeat 2 more times. Relax, shake out the hands.

This extraordinary meditation is to be done with great precision.
Make sure the hand mudra and the position of the hands over the head are held correctly and fixed.
